Michele Harris is Of Counsel with the law firm of Kitchens New Cleghorn, LLC. She primarily focuses her practice in the areas of Family and Criminal Law, with a heavy concentration on DUIs and other alcohol related offenses.

Ms. Harris graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law where she competed in numerous Mock Trial Tournaments around the nation. She was appointed to the Executive Mock Trial Board and served as Vice-Chairman. She was selected to be a member of the Lumpkin Inns of Court and graduated Order of the Barristers.

At UGA, Ms. Harris focused on litigation, devoting much of her time to clinical studies, where she had the opportunity to participate in all phases of trial work, including assisting in the appeal of Georgia's only female then serving a sentence on Death Row.

After graduation, Ms. Harris joined the Gwinnett County Solicitor's office, where she prosecuted thousands of cases through all phases of litigation. She also co-managed a trial division that carried between 400-600 open cases at any given time. In 2007, she joined the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor's office, where she prosecuted hundreds of cases involving misdemeanors.

Ms. Harris is a veteran trial lawyer. She has handled hundreds of DUI cases. She has vast experience in all phases of litigation, and has expanded those skills into the civil arena, taking on difficult family law issues. Ms. Harris feels passionate about giving a voice to those who would otherwise not be heard and believes in forming long-lasting relationships with those clients she serves.

Ms. Harris lives in Athens with her husband and three children. She is an active volunteer in the local community and school system. She attends Redeemer Presbyterian Church, where she had the opportunity to chaperone a youth mission trip to Nicaragua to assist in a construction project on a pineapple farm.
